This lovely decorated restaurant from restaurant owner Casper Reinders and chef Jaimie van Heijen just opened in March 2018 inside of the beautiful five star hotel NH Collection Doelen Amsterdam. At Bumbu Kitchen Indonesian flavours are a key aspect of each dish, the original combination of spices are getting a modern twist in the new menu. You are welcomed here with larger groups or for a dinner for two. At any time of day you are welcome, they serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and have a bar with delicious drinks. The restaurant is located near the lively Staalstraat in the city centre of Amsterdam and offers wonderful food for a fair price.
Chef Jaimie van Heije gets his inspiration for the menu from the cooking of his grandmother. His grandparents are from Indonesia and because he grew up between the flavours and smells of his grandmothers cookingskills he is very familiar with this kitchen. On the menu you can find names of traditional Indonesian dishes, but on the plates the combinations of spices will surprise you. Chef Jaimie creates an unique and creative twist to the traditional Indonesian kitchen.
For the interior Casper Reinders worked together with Thijs Murree. The walls have a purple colour which is especially made for Bumbu Kitchen. Guests can dine at the bar directly attached to the kitchen, or take place at one of the many handmade tables.
Daily from 7am to 11pm.
